Volleyball Picks Up Three Wins on Busy Saturday

CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team took a pair of matches at the Widener Tri-Match on Saturday morning.

The Knights started the morning with a 3-2 in over host Widener. The Pride took the first two sets, 25-16, 25-19. Neumann did not let up and came back to win set three 25-18 and set four 25-22 to force a fifth and deciding set. The Knights came away with the 15-11 win for the match.

Katelin Kuklentz led the Knights with 22 kills and 13 digs. Kelsey D'Imperio had a hitting percentage of .344 and finished with 15 kills. She also had two block solos and four block assists. Kat Wolf dished out 46 assists.

Julia Malseed notched 18 digs while Danielle Kwapisz added 10.

In the second match, the Knights defeated Swarthmore in five sets. The teams went back and forth as the Knights took sets one and three, 25-14, 25-21 while the Garnet took sets two and four, 25-22, 25-23. Neumann came away with the close match, 15-12 in the final and deciding set.

Kuklentz (21 kills) and D'Imperio (20 kills) led the offense for the Knights. Wolf handed out 52 assists.

Malseed notched 22 digs while Kuklentz added 15. Ashley Clark had three block solos and three block assists.




ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team completed an undefeated day, taking a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match from Baptist Bible College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-16, 29-27, 25-14.

Katelin Kuklentz 13 kills in the match. Gianna Jones notched five kills on 12 attempts for a hitting percentage of .417. Kelsey D'Imperio and Ashley Clark each had nine kills while Anna Waltz added eight kills. Kat Wolf handed out 36 assists.

Julia Malseed anchored the defense with 13 digs while Danielle Kwapisz added 11.

Neumann (18-10, 7-1 CSAC) hosts Centenary on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in CSAC action.
