ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team battled but fell 5-4 in overtime to Moravian College on Wednesday afternoon.
Kenya Woods, Alexa McIntyre, Jess Harrell and Jordan Hopkins scored for the Knights. Lindsey Kasecamp made 16 saves in net.
The Greyhounds scored first just 2:45 into the game. Woods notched her goal two minutes later, off an assist from Lindsey Spatola.
Moravian took a 2-1 lead in the 29th minute. McIntyre was awarded a penalty stroke and capitalized to tie the game at two. Harrell scored her goal, from Woods, in the 33rd minute and the Knights took a 3-2 lead into halftime.
Hopkins netted a goal in the 55th minute to give Neumann a two goal advantage. However, the Greyhounds were not going to give up. Moravian was awarded a penalty stroke and converted in the 58th minute to cut the deficit to one. The Greyhounds took that momentum and tied the game in the 60th minute.
Five minute into overtime, and the Greyhounds scored the game-winner for the come-from-behind win.
Neumann (2-8) will open conference action on Saturday when it hosts Keystone beginning at 11:00 AM.
