Strong Second Half Launches Knights Over Giants

ASTON, Pa. – A strong second half led the Neumann University field hockey team to a 6-1 win over Keystone College on Saturday morning in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Six Knights found the back of the net win the win. Lindsey Spatola started the scoring off a penalty corner. Alexa McIntyre knocked in the penalty corner to Becky Guinto, who shot the ball and Spatola tipped the ball in the net.

That was the lone goal of the first half.

Keystone came out of halftime and scored two minutes in.

The Knights then opened up the offense. Jess Harrell gave Neumann the lead back in the 44th minute, off Guinto's second assist of the game.

Carolynn Bacho scored in the 48th minute to give Neumann a two-goal cushion. Guinto wasn't done on the score sheet yet, as she found the back of the net in the 57th minute, from McIntyre on a penalty corner.

Kenya Woods scored the fifth goal in the 65th minute off a scrum and a rebound in front of the net. McIntyre finished off the scoring with nine second left on the clock with a laser from the top of the circle.

Lindsey Kasecamp made five saves in net to pick up the win.

Neumann (3-8, 1-0 CSAC) hosts Marywood next Wednesday in CSAC action beginning at 4:00 PM.
