Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team doubled up Marywood University 4-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on a windy Wednesday night.

Jordan Hopkins opened the scoring in the seventh minute. The Knights put the ball towards the Pacer net where Kenya Woods got the ball to Hopkins, who put it in the back of the net for the early 1-0 lead.

In the 10th minute, Carolynn Bacho shot the ball towards the Marywood goal. The ball looked to be going wide, but ended up hitting the post and bouncing right to Woods, who alertly put the ball in the net for a 2-0 lead. Lindsey Spatola gave Neumann a 3-0 lead off a penalty corner and an assist for Becky Guinto in the 19th minute.

In the second half, the Pacers scored two goals in a three minute span to cut the Knights lead to one, 3-2, with 10 minutes left in regulation.

Jess Harrell hit a laser from the top of the circle in the 61st minute to give Neumann back a two goal lead. Hopkins passed the ball back to Harrell.

Lindsey Kasecamp made six saves in net as the Knights improve to 2-0 in conference action.

Neumann (4-8, 2-0 CSAC) hits the road for three games, beginning with Bethany College on Saturday for a 2:00 PM non-conference start.
