Men's Hockey Defeats Red Dragons

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team picked up a 7-2 win at Cortland State on Friday evening in non-conference action.

Jory Mullin scored two goals for the Knights. Collin O'Neil and Sam House each had a goal and an assist. Dan McDougall and Casey Rogers each handed out two assists. Ben Curley made 37 saves in net.

Ryan Luiten put the Knights on the board 4:51 into the first period. Cortland tied the game at one at the 10 minute mark and the teams went into the first intermission

The Knights scored three goals in the second period to jump out to a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes. Jeff Bienvenue broke the 1-1 tie 37 seconds into the second. Mullin then notched his two goals, both coming on the man advantage at the 15:42 and 18:37 mark. His first goal ended up being the game-winner.

House scored his goal, on the power play, 1:22 into the third period. O'Neill notched his goal midway through the third for a 6-1 score. The Red Dragons made the game 6-2 at the 12:42 mark. Johannes Sallila notched an unassisted goal, his first collegiate goal, with 48 seconds left in the game for the 7-2 score.

Neumann (3-3-1) will face-off again tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3:00 PM.
