Knights and Red Dragons Play to 2-2 Draw

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team and Cortland State played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Each team scored a goal in the first and a goal in the second periods. Cortland got on the board first 9:44 into the first period. Shayne Morrissey tied the game at one on the power play. Ryan Luiten and D'Lane Sather drew the assists on the goal at the 11:55 mark.

The Red Dragons took a 2-1 lead with a power play goals 2:24 into the second period. Nick Perruccio netted his first collegiate goal two minutes. Collin O'Neil and Casey Rogers assisted on the game-tying goal.

Ben Curley made 23 saves in net as Neumann moves to 3-3-2 on the season. The Knights return home next weekend for a pair of games. Neumann hosts Salve Regina on Friday with a 5:30 start. Morrisville State then comes to Aston on Saturday for a 7:00 PM puck drop.
