Men's Basketball Picks Up CSAC Win against Mighty Macs

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team defeated Immaculata University 62-50 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Reggie Coleman led the Knights with19 points. Mark Blount netted 17 while DeShawn Lowman added 16.

The teams remained close in the first half with neither team holding more than a six point lead. With 2:26 left in the first, the teams tied for the fourth time, this time at 28. Coleman hit a lay-up and a free throw to put Neumann up 31-28. The Mighty Macs hit two free throws before the end of the half and the Knights held a 31-30 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Knights held the Mighty Macs to just 20 points. With 9:34 left in the second, and the teams tied at 44, Neumann started to pull away. Over the next two minutes, the Knights went on a 9-1 run to take an eight point lead, 53-45. The Mighty Macs would score just five points in the final seven minutes. Immaculata's final basket made the score 54-50 with 3:08 remaining in regulation. Neumann's Blount sealed the game with a dunk with 19 seconds remaining for the 62-50 final.

Neumann improves to 4-3 overall and pulls even, 2-2, in CSAC action. The Knights will travel to Rutgers University-Newark next Saturday for non-conference action beginning at 3:00 PM.
