ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team defeated SUNY-Cortland 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.

Angela Gilmour had a goal and an assist. Meghan Power handed out two assists. Justina Mayr made 14 saves in net.

Grace Klienbach scored the only goal of the first period at the 6:07 mark. Gilmour notched the assist.

Gilmour then scored her goal at the 9:35 mark of the second period on the power play. Power tallied the assist. The Red Dragons then scored a power play goal five minutes later for a 2-1 game.

Sarah Thon scored her first collegiate goal, and eventual game-winner, at the 16:16 mark of the second period. Cortland made the game 3-2 13 seconds later.

Shanelle Doucette gave the Knights an insurance goal 2:25 into the third period. Dru Austin notched the assist as Neumann held on for the 4-2 win.

Neumann (2-8, 1-5 ECAC West) is now off until the New Year when it will participate in the Codfish Bowl. The Knights will face Connecticut College in the first round on January 2 at 4:00 PM.
