ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team travels to No. 1 seeded Cabrini College on Tuesday evening for a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal contest.
The Knights, the No. 5 seed, defeated No. 4 seeded Immaculata on Saturday, 66-40, in the first round. Mark Blount led Neumann with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. TaVaune Griffin and Dom Gibson each knocked down 11 points. Griffin added 14 boards.
Cabrini took the season series with Neumann, winning 84-58 and 82-61.
For the season, Neumann is led by CSAC First Team honoree Mark Blount. He is averaging 15.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while blocking 55 shots. Rich Whitten is netting 11.3 points per game and has hit a team-leading 27 three-pointers. Dom Gibson has connected on 26 buckets from downtown while Reggie Colemand has hit 25. TaVaune Griffin adds 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. He leads the team with 69 blocks.
The winner will meet the winner of the No. 2 Gwynedd-Mercy vs. No. 3 Keystone semifinal in the CSAC Championship game on Friday evening. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM at the highest remaining seed.
