ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team scores big in home opener with a 20-1 win against non-conference Rutgers- Camden University, Saturday afternoon.

On an intermittent rainy day, the Knights showered the Scarlet Raptors net with plenty of goals. Rebecca Dolenti and Meghan Garsey scored four goals and Suzanne Sheehan scored three goals.

Neumann shot out to a 4-0 lead within the first 10 minutes of play. Amanda Fedak, Garsey (Two goals) and Alexa Wilkinson started the fun for the girls in blue/gold.

Rutgers Camden had a reply by scoring a goal to make it 4-1, but the Knights would not concede another goal for the rest of the game. The Knights re-established themselves by scoring nine additional goals in the first half to take a 13-1 halftime lead.

Alexa McIntyre continued the Knights scoring prowess, as she scored the first of seven – second half goals.

Chrissy Hughes made eight saves on the day. Hughes can be described as "Scrappy" and "Active" in the net. The defensive unit has put in two solid performances and it continues to be the strength of the team.

The Scarlet Raptors had only used a few substitutions and they found the pace of the Knights game to be exhausting. The Knights outshot the Scarlet Raptors 43-12.

"This was a terrific team win for us and I like that we are sharing the ball", said Coach Malone. "It's early yet, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us".

The Knights (2-0) travel to Arcadia University in Wednesday, February 27 at 7 p.m.
