ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team beat Stevenson University 4-1 in non-conference action, Sunday afternoon.

Edie Brenning, Lynsey Nakamura and Ang Gilmour all scored a goal and had an assist each to lead the Knights to victory. Megan Russelo chipped in two assist, as well for the Knights.

Brenning started the Knights off with an assist just 32 seconds into the first period to take a 1-0 lead. Brenning used her speed and agility to dismiss the Mustangs along the boards and shovel the puck into the path of Shanelle Doucette. Doucette revels in being in the right spot, at the right time and her timeliness didn't disappoint. Doucette claimed the goal, as she was sure to acknowledge Brenning for her efforts with a celebratory hug.

In the second period, Russelo finessed her way through the Mustangs in the middle of the ice and Brenning stationed herself next to the net. In doing so, all Brenning had to do was re-direct the puck into the net and she wouldn't let the opportunity go begging, as the Knights took a 2-0 lead.

Nakamura and Gilmour scored in the third period, as well as assisting on the goals to take a 4-0 lead. Russelo added an assist to Nakamura's goal.

The Mustangs scored on a power play with 6:51 remaining in the game to cut into the lead, resulting in the 4-1 finale.

Allie Frank made 32 saves in the game.

The Knights (7-13-1, 4-8 ECAC West) will travel to Chatham University on Saturday, February 9 and 10.
