Women's Lacrosse Cruises to Victory Over Gators

BALTIMORE, Md. The Neumann University women's lacrosse team won 18-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) against Notre Dame of Maryland University, Wednesday afternoon.

Amanda Fedak and Lexy Wilkinson scored four goals each, while Alexa McIntyre added three goals in the Knights win against the Gators.

Neumann scored the first four goals of the game and then allowed Notre Dame to inch their way back into the game.

With the Knights leading 6-1, the Gators scored three goals, but the Knights held a 7-4 halftime lead. The Gators scored their fourth goal with one second remaining in the half with a free position shot.

The Knights outscored the Gators 10-1 in the second half to come away with the win.

Emily Sanders had four ground balls, Meghan Garsey had four caused turnovers and Chrissy Hughes made seven saves in the game.

“I am very proud of the girls, I thought we accomplished a lot of small goals today that will help us better as we move forward in conference play,” mentioned Coach Malone.

The Knights (7-1) travel to CSAC opponents Centenary College on Saturday, March 23 at 12 p.m.
