HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team pulled off an upset by beating Centenary College 17-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), Saturday afternoon.

The Knights looked forward to this rematch from a year ago, when Centenary beat the Knights in the CSAC Playoffs pretty handedly. This was a significant yardstick and the Knights stood up to the challenge with relative ease.

Amanda Fedak and Rebecca Dolenti scored four goals each in the game to lead the Knights.

Fedak scored all her four goals in the first half of the game and she scored two of the first three goals for the Knights to take a 3-0 lead. Centenary scored to trail 3-1, but it was all Knights from that point on.

Neumann scored the next eight goals of the first half to take a commanding 11-1 lead. The Knights used their balanced attack to get goals from various players. In the eight goal stretch, Dolenti scored three goals. Lexy Wilkinson scored one of her two total goals in the same stretch of the game. Jordan Hopkins and Koula Gregor contributed a goal each.

By the start of the second half, the damage had already been done and the Knights continued to not show any shyness in scoring. Neumann took a 7-5 goal advantage in the second half, en route to the 17-5 win.

Emily Sanders and Wilkinson caused three turnovers each, Meghan Garsey had four draw controls and Chrissy Hughes cradled two saves in the game.

“Sometimes you have a lot of things go right in the game and across the board, I think all the girls did a of things right today,” mentioned Coach Malone. “I thought we were relentless right from the start of the game and that was an area of improvement that I was looking for from the girls.”

The Knights (8-1) host CSAC opponents Rosemont College on Tuesday, March 26 at 4 p.m.
