Box Score

ASTON, Pa. The Neumann University women's lacrosse team earned a shutout and won big in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) against Rosemont College25-0, Tuesday afternoon.

The Knights scored 15 first half goals to take a 15-0 lead. Rebecca Dolenti and Koula Gregor scored five goals each to lead the Knights. Gregor had eight draw controls, six ground balls and two assists. Chrissy Hughes made three saves in earning the shutout.

Neumann's Dolenti scored 36 seconds in the game to put Rosemont on their heels early on in the first half. Meghan Garsey scored 14 seconds later to take a 2-0 advantage. The goals would flow from that point forward.

The Knights controlled the second half with possession and ball movement. The Ravens had two quality opportunities to score in the second half, but Hughes was in no mood for allowing balls in the back of her net to maintain the shutout. The Knights scored 10 second half goals.

The Knights were able to use their reserves, as they made the most of their playing time. Jordan Hopkins scored four goals as a reserve on six shot attempts. Hopkins had three ground balls and three draw controls.

The crowd reveled in the participation of Colleen Waters and the Knights team erupted when she grabbed a ground ball midway through the second half.

“I was impressed with the girls playing a complete game and maintaining their intensity throughout the game,” mentioned Coach Malone. “There was no let down today and we were able to get a lot of girls on the field.”

The Knights (9-1) travel to CSAC opponents Marywood University on Wednesday, April 4 at 7 p.m.
