Box Score

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team received their first defeat in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) at the hands of Cabrini College 20-9, Tuesday afternoon.
Neumann was led by freshman Rebecca Dolenti and Jordan Hopkins each scoring four goals in the Knights loss.

Hopkins started the scoring for the Knights, as they were the more dangerous side for the first 15 minutes.

Cabrini took advantage of three Knights turnovers that all resulted in goals for the Cavaliers.

Hopkins scored the fourth goal for the Knights to give the host team a 4-3 lead, but that would be their last lead of the day.

Cabrini turned it up a notch scored the next seven goals to take a 10-4 lead. Dolenti scored with four seconds remaining in the half to enter the break with a bit of momentum.

The Knights struggled in transition in the second half of the game and Cabrini didn't settle for the Knights making any sort of a run to get back in the game.

The Cavaliers were statistical winners as well with Cabrini outshooting the Knights 40-23, in draw controls 21-10 and free position shots 3-3 (Cabrini) and 0-5 (Neumann).

Chrissy Hughes had 13 saves on the day.

“We didn't settle in and play our game and I think this is a great learning experience for us as a team,” said Coach Malone. “You have to play at a high level to beat good teams and we can regroup knowing what lies ahead.”

The Knights (11-2, 5-1 CSAC) will host Swarthmore College on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m.
