Volleyball Splits in Exciting Matches at Knights Invitational

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team split a pair of game as it hosted the Knights Invitational on Friday evening.

Neumann opened against Eastern and fell 3-0. The Knights rebounded with a 3-1 win against Marymount in the nightcap.

Against Eastern, the set scores were 25-16, 25-8 and 25-18. Kelsey D'Imperio led the Knights with six kills. Kat Wolf handed out 13 assists. Emily Shooster and Katelin Kuklentz each had seven digs.

In the nightcap, Neumann defeated Marymount in four sets. The Knights took the first set 25-18. The Saints came back and won set two 25-16. The next two sets were nail-biters. Neumann came away with a 25-23 win in set three.

Set four was a battle as it went back and forth many times. Neumann would win a point and Marymount would answer with a point. The Saints would take a point and the Knights would answer with a point. It wasn't until the score was 32-31 that Neumann would be able to get the two point advantage to take the set, 33-31, and the match 3-1.

Neumann (3-7) continues in day two of the Knights Invitational tomorrow. The Knights face Bryn Mawr at 11:00 AM and Scranton at 3:00 PM.
