CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell 4-2 at Widener on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
Jordan Hopkins and Jess Harrell scored for the Knights. Lindsey Kasecamp started the game in net for Neumann and made six saves. Becca Wallace notched three saves in 20 minutes. Katie Bauer had two defensive saves.
The Pride scored first in the sixth minute of the game. Hopkins then netter her goal, off an assist from Lindsey Spatola, in the 23rd minute to tie the game. Widener responded quickly and took back the lead two minutes later.
Widener added two more goals in the second half for a 4-1 lead. Harrell found the back of the net in the 66th minute for the 4-2 final.
Neumann (0-3) will host Delaware Valley on Saturday morning. The non-conference contest gets underway at 11:00 AM.
