ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team split in the first day of the Buttermaker Tournament at Muhlenberg College on Friday evening. The Knights defeated PSU-Abington 3-1 before falling to host Muhlenberg 3-0.

After dropping the first set to the Lions 25-17, the Knights rallied to win the next three sets, 25-13, 25-23, 25-15, to win the match, 3-1.

Katelin Kuklentz led the Knights with 16 kills, 12 digs and two service aces. Anna Waltz notched 11 digs and four service aces. Danielle Kwapisz added 11 digs and two aces.

Ashley Clark handed out 17 assists while Kat Wolf dished out 15.

The Knights fell in three sets to Muhlenberg in the second match of the night, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17. Kuklentz had seven kills for the Knights while Gianna Jones added six. Kwapisz notched 12 digs.

Neumann will take part in day two of the Buttermaker Classic at Muhlenberg College tomorrow. The Knights will face DeSales at 10:00 AM and Moravian at 2:00 PM.
