Men's Basketball Strong Down the Stretch for Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team came away with a 78-71 win against Baptist Bible in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Saturday afternoon.

Kevin Green connected on seven three-pointers en route to a game-high 28 points. Reggie Coleman added 19 points and 12 assists for a double-double. Mark Blount notched his own double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

The game consisted of 10 ties and eight lead changes. With the teams tied at 13, Neumann went on a 14-4 run to take a 27-17 lead. Baptist Bible answered with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 29. The Defenders hit a three-pointer with 24 seconds left in the first half to take a 39-36 lead. Green hit one of his seven three's with three seconds left on the clock to knot the game at 39 heading into halftime.

The Knights scored the first eight points of the second half for a 47-39 lead. The Defenders would knot the score for the 10th time midway through the half at 51. Baptist Bible took a one point advantage, 62-61, with 5:27 left in regulation. Green answered with another three-pointer for give the Knights back a lead they would not relinquish.

With a one possession game, 71-69, Green hit another big basket from beyond the arc. DeShawn Lowman and Coleman each went 2-for-2 from the line in the final minute to seal the nail-biting conference win.

Neumann (11-4, 6-2 CSAC) travels to Rosemont for more conference action on Monday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
