Knights Split A Pair at Tri-Match

CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team split a pair of games at a tri-match on Saturday. The Knights opened the morning with a 3-1 win over host Widener, 3-1. Neumann then fell to DeSales 3-1.

The Knights started the morning with a 3-1 win against the Pride. Widener took the first set 25-22. Neumann came back to take set two 25-12. The Knights battled in set three and came away with a 29-27 win before taking set four for the win, 25-16.

Kelsey D'Imperio led the Knights with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .462. Amanda McAleer had 12 kills and Anna Waltz added 10.  Kat Wolf handed out 43 assists.

Julia Malseed led four Knights in double-digit digs with 20. Waltz had 16, Elaina Shooster 15 and Danielle Kwapisz 11. Ashley Clark and D'Imperio each had five solo blocks.

Against DeSales, the Bulldogs won the first two sets, 25-13, 25-21. Neumann came back to win set three 25-19. The Knights tried to force a fifth set, but fell 25-22 in the fourth set.

Waltz led the offense with 13 kills and D'Imperio added 12. Wolf dished out 34 assists. Malseed notched 23 digs. Kwapisz added 16 and Waltz had 14. D'Imperio tallied five block solos while Clark added four.

Neumann (18-9) gets back to conference action on Tuesday when it travels to Immaculata. The match is slated to start at 7:00 PM.
