ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team won a back and forth 4-3 double overtime contest against Immaculata on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Lindsey Spatola netted two goals to lead the Knights. Jessica Harrell added two assists. Summer Sklivas made 11 saves in net for the win.
Marisa Antuzzi scored the game winner in the 91st minute, netting her second game-winning goal in double overtime action.
The game was back and forth throughout. The Mighty Macs found the back of the net first in the second minute. Alexa McIntyre then tied the game in the fifth minute off an assist from Harrell. Immaculata took back the lead in the 14th minute. Spatola then made her way down the field and found the back of the cage to knot the game at two.
In the second half, the Mighty Macs took a 3-2 lead on a penalty stroke in the 62nd minute. Spatola then score her second goal off a scrum in front of the net. Harrell picked up the assist.
Team teams played a scoreless first overtime. Antuzzi then broke the tie and game the Knights the come-from-behind win in the 91st minute.
Neumann outshot Immaculata 32-17 overall and 25-15 on net.
Neumann (6-5, 3-0 CSAC) travels to Moravian for non-conference action on Wednesday. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
