Volleyball Ends Season at ECAC Southeast Tournament

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Neumann University volleyball team dropped a pair of games at the ECAC Southeast Tournament on Saturday.

The Knights opened the competition by falling in straight sets 3-0 to No. 1 seeded Lebanon Valley. In the consolation game, Neumann fell 3-0 to Swarthmore.

Against Lebanon Valley, set scores were 25-21, 26-24, 25-15. Julia Malseed notched 14 kills and Anna Waltz added 10. Waltz led in digs with 15, Danielle Kwapisz notched 14 and Malseed added 10. Kat Wolf handed out 25 assists.

In the first set, the teams went back and forth and ended up tied at 16. The Dutchmen were able to get ahead by a few points and took the first set 25-21. In the second set, the Knights came back from begin down 22-16 and tied the match at 22. Neumann was able to take the slight 24-23 advantage, but Leb Val was able to get three straight kills for the 26-24 win. Lebanon Valley pulled away with the third set to take the match.

Against Swarthmore, the set scores were 25-17, 25-12, 25-20. Waltz, Kelsey D'Imperio and Amanda McAleer each had six kills. Waltz and Elaina Shooster notched 15 digs. Malseed had 11 and Kwapisz added 10. Wolf dished out 22 assists.

Neumann ends its season 23-14 overall and as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) runner-up.
