ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team fell 3-2 at Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.
Mike Davis had a goal and an assist. Chris Bournazos tallied two assists. Ben Curley made 25 saves in net.
The Golden Flyers scored the only goal of the first period at the 12:19 mark. The rest of the game's scoring then came in the second period.
Neumann tied the game 3:03 into the second period as Jory Mullin scored his first of the season. Davis and Bournazos drew the assists. Nazareth took back the lead four minutes later. With three minutes left in the second, the Golden Flyers netted a power play goal.
With time wining down in the period, Davis scored on the power play with two seconds remaining on the clock. Jon Low and Bournazos handed out the assists.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the third period. The Knights tried to tally the equalizer by pulling Curley for the extra attacker, but it did not work.
Neumann (4-2-1, 4-2 ECAC West) will travel west next weekend. The Knights will face the USA Under 18 Team in an exhibition on Saturday and then Adrian on Sunday.
