Third Period is the Difference in Knights Loss to Lakers

ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to Oswego State in ECAC West action in Friday evening.

Oswego scored the opening goal of the game just 1:29 into the contest on its first power play. Bek Lucas tied the game at one at the 12:06 mark of the first. Shanelle Doucette and Sarah Thon tallied the helpers.

The teams remained knotted at one through the second period and headed into the final 20 minutes,

Oswego capitalized on another power play to take a 2-1 lead 6:40 into the third period. The Lakers added another goal midway through the period and then tallied an insurance goal with 4:56 left in regulation.

The Knights outshot the Lakers 25-21. Chelsea Polidoro recorded 17 saves for Neumann.

Neumann (1-8-1, 1-6 ECAC West) will face-off with Oswego State again tomorrow afternoon. The puck is slated to drop at 3:00 PM.
