Men's Basketball Ends Regular Season with a W

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team completed the regular season with a 74-66 win at Baptist Bible College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) on Wednesday evening.

Kevin Green led four Knights in double-figures with 20 points, including four buckets from down town. DeShawn Lowman netted 18 points. Reggie Coleman notched 11 and 11 while Mark Blount added 10. Mel Weldon pulled down 10 boards.

Neumann and BBC remained within a few points of each other as the game started. The Defenders started to pull away as the clock ticked closer to halftime as the Knights had trouble finding the basket. BBC finished the last nine minute of the half on a 15-5 run to take a 16-all game to a 31-21 lead at the break.

The Knights started to make the move with the score 47-40 as they went on to score eight straight points to tie the score and take a one point lead. Lowman connect on two free throws to give Neumann a 48-47 advantage. The Knights went on to build an eight point lead, 63-55, with three minutes left in regulation. The Defenders battled down the stretch, but in the final 16 seconds, Lowman hit one free throw and Coleman made two to seal the win.

Neumann (17-6, 12-6 CSAC) will be the No. 3 seed in the CSAC postseason and will host a first round game against Keystone on Saturday afternoon.
