ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team fell in its season opener 18-11 to Arcadia University on a cold Tuesday afternoon.

Jordan Hopkins led the Knights with three goals and an assist for four points. Rebecca Dolenti and Lexy Wilkinson each netted two goals.

Sam Kotowski started in net and made nine saves. Becca Wallace made three saves in almost 24 minute of relief.

The teams traded goals to start the game, but then Arcadia found the net four straight times to take a 6-2 lead. During the final 10 minutes of the first half, the Knights scored three goals while Arcadia netted three for an 8-5 score at the break.

Arcadia scored five of the first six goal of the second half to take a commanding 13-6 lead. Koula Gregor scored a goal with four second left on the clock, but it was not enough and the Knights fell 18-11.

Neumann (0-1) will host Wesley on Friday afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM.
