Late Comeback Attempt Falls Short for Men's Lacrosse

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team fell in a close 8-6 game at Lebanon Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Scott scored four goals for the Knights. Alex Becker made 18 saves in net and picked up six ground balls.

LVC opened with the first two goals of the game. Kevin Fonio then put the Knights on the board with 2:36 left in the first quarter. The Dutchmen netted another goal for a 3-1 score after the first 15 minutes.

LVC outscored Neumann 3-1 as well in the second quarter for a 6-2 lead at halftime.

The teams traded goals in the third quarter for a 7-3 score heading into the final 15 minutes.

LVC scored its eighth goal 43 seconds into the final quarter. Ryan Eber then found the net for the Knights 30 seconds later. Scott scored two goals in just over a minute and Neumann pulled to within two, 8-6, with 5:35 left in regulation. The Knights were not able to find the net again to complete the comeback attempt and fell by two.

Neumann (1-6) will host Bard College on Tuesday afternoon. Action gets underway at 4:00 PM.
