Knights Hand Raptors First Loss in Snowy Game

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team handed Bard College its first loos of the season, coming away with a 9-5 win on a snowy Tuesday afternoon.

Kevin Fonio led the Knights with four goals. Ryan Eber netted two goals. Jordan Klunk handed out two assists. Alex Becker made 11 saves in net for the win and also picked up eight ground balls. Tom Blakeslee made one save in net in just over five minutes.

Fonio opened the scoring for the Knights. The Raptors then tied the game at one just over a minute later. Ryan Lee and Eber netted two straight goals and Neumann held a 3-1 lead after one period.

Neumann outscored Bard 3-2 in the second quarter to hold a 6-3 lead heading into halftime. Fonio, Chris Scott and Eber tallied for the Knights.


Fonio scored the only two goals in the third quarter for an 8-3 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

Bard was able to scored two goals in the final quarter. Rob Williamson also scored for the Knights as they came away with the 9-5 win as the snow began to fall harder.


Neumann (2-6) opens conference play on Saturday when it hosts Gwynedd Mercy. The first face-off is slated for 4:00 PM.
