ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team used a strong second half to defeat Immaculata University 11-9 on Wednesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Ryan O'Kane netted four goals to lead the Knights. Patrick Rose scored three goals. Kevin Fonio had two goals and two assists. Alex Becker made 17 saves in net.
Evan Zielinski went 11-of-18 from the face-off circle. O'Kane was 5-for-6. Becker picked up 11 ground balls and Rob Foster grabbed 10.
O'Kane opened the scoring 4:48 into the game. Ryan Lee gave the Knights a 2-0 lead. After one quarter, Neumann held a 3-2 lead.
The Mighty Macs outscored the Knights 5-2 in the second quarter. O'Kane scored with 21 second left in the half to bring the Knights to within two, 7-5, heading into halftime.
Rose scored the only two goals of the third quarter for a 7-7 game heading into the final 15 minutes.
Neumann scored four goals to open the fourth quarter, as part of seven straight going back to the end of the first half. Immaculata netted the final two goals of regulation, but Neumann held on for the 11-9 conference win.
The Knights and Mighty Macs wore Lax4Life Shirts during warm up and under their jersey's during the game to being awareness to suicide prevention. Donations were taken to help in help to provide support programs geared towards adolescent and young adult suicide prevention awareness.

Neumann (5-9, 2-3 CSAC) will wrap up the regular season next week against Rosemont. Action gets underway on Thursday at 7:00 PM.
