Women's Lacrosse to Face Cabrini in CSAC Championship

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team enter the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) with an overall record of 11-4 and 7-2 in the CSAC and is the No. 2 seed in the post season.

 

The Knights advanced to their second straight CSAC Championship game with a 12-5 win over Marywood on Thursday evening. This is the first time Neumann has reached back-to-back conference title games.

 

Getting the semifinal game in was tough. After the turf field flooded on Wednesday, the teams rescheduled for Thursday. With 8:59 remaining in the second half, the game went into a 1:45 minute lightning delay.  Rebecca Dolenti and Jordan Hopkins each netted three goals for the Knights. Mandy Fedak added two goals. Sam Kotowski made 12 saves in net.

 

Neumann will be led by first team selection Lex McIntyre who has seen major success this season starting all 15 games for the Knights netting 20 goals with nine assists for 29 points and a team high 75 groundballs with 37 caused turnovers.

 

In the first meeting during the regular season, the Cavaliers won 17-9. Gabbey Murray and Fedak each netted two goals for the Knights. Lexy Wilkinson added two assists. Christina Hughes started the game and made 12 saves in net.

 

The winner will receive the CSAC AQ to the NCAA Tournament.
