Box Score ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team dropped a 73-68 decision to Centenary College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
James Butler led the Knights with 17 points. Kevin Green netted 12 points and Andrew Moye added 10.
Centenary used three-pointers to take an early advantage, 14-6. Once the long balls cooled down, Neumann began to get back into the game and tied the score at 16 midway through the half. The Cyclones answered with an 8-2 run to take a 24-18 lead. Two free throws by Butler knotted the score again, this time at 24. The Knights ended the half on a 10-4 run to take a 34-28 lead into the half.
Neumann slowly built its lead up during the beginning of the second half and held a 12 point advantage, 45-33, with 14:26 left in regulation. Midway through the half, the Cyclones began to connect on three-pointers again, and took a 51-42 Knights lead and scored the next 15 points, four of which were baskets from beyond the arc and took a 56-51 lead with 6:39 remaining. The Knights could not get the key basket to drop and could get back into the game and the Cyclones came away with the 73-68 win.
Neumann (10-7, 7-3 CSAC) will host Cabrini on Wednesday evening in conference action. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 PM.
