Cavaliers Use Second Half to Get Past Knights

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team dropped an 80-71 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) decision to Cabrini College on Wednesday evening.

Andrew Moye led the Knights with 22 points. DeShawn Lowman netted 17 points. Kevin Green scored 13 while James Butler added 11.

The first half stayed to close to start with the Knights holding the biggest lead of five, 13-8. The Cavaliers started to make their move with the score tied at 13. Over the next three minutes, Cabrini went on an 11-2 run to take a 24-15 lead.

With the Cavaliers holding a 29-20 advantage with just under five minutes left in the first half, the Knights turned up the heat and outscored the Cavaliers 17-2 to end the half and hold a 37-31 lead at the break.

Cabrini came out of the locker room with bang and took over the pace of the game, erasing Neumann's lead, 41-40, with basket with 16:20 on the clock. The Cavaliers kept the pressure on and built their lead to 10, 52-42, midway through the second half. Cabrini's largest lead was 18, 76-56, with 3:13 remaining.

Neumann did not let up and climbed its way back to within single digits, but time ran out before a comeback could be completed.

Neumann (10-8, 7-4 CSAC) travels to Keystone on Saturday for more CSAC action beginning at 1:00 PM.
