ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team defeated Rosemont College 2-1 in overtime in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Wednesday night under the lights.
Nicole McAfee scored her second goal of the game 3:25 into the overtime session to win the game. After the Knights were fouled,
Alexa DeRose took the free kick that McAfee directed into the back of the net.
After the teams played to a scoreless first half, McAfee netted her first goal five minutes into the second half. DeRose inbounded the ball on a corner kick that McAfee headed into the goal for the 1-0 Knights lead.
The Ravens knotted the game at one in the 65
th minute, which eventually forced the game into overtime.
Kristen Montgomery made four saves in net for the Knights. Neumann outshot Rosemont 18-10.
Neumann (2-12, 2-7 CSAC) will visit Cedar Crest College on Saturday for conference action. The game is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
