Box Score 2 CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Neumann University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the Dig Pink tri-match at DeSales University on Saturday. The Knights fell to the host 3-0 and then battled with Stockton, but dropped 3-2.
Against DeSales, the set scored were 25-23, 25-15, 25-23.
Julia Malseed led Neumann with 11 kills and 13 digs.
Kat Wolf handed out 29 assists and tallied 10 digs.
Anna Waltz added 10 digs of her own.
During the first set, the teams battled back and forth and were tied at 22 down the stretch. While the Knights were down 22-19,
Sarah Sanderson tallied two kills and
Rachael Hoffman had one for the tie. Hoffman had another kill for a 24-23 Bulldogs lead, but the Knights could not get the clinching point. The third set was much of the same, with the teams going back and forth.
In the second match against Stockton, Neumann took the first set 27-25. The Ospreys won sets two and three, 25-13 and 25-12. The Knights battled in set four and won 28-26 to send the match to a fifth set. It came down to the end, but Stockton came away with the 15-13 win.
Waltz had 14 kills and 16 digs. Malseed tallied 10 kills and 20 digs. Wolf dished out 41 assists while adding 16 digs.
Nikki Collevechio added 15 digs.
In the first set, Neumann was down 25-24. A kill by Malseed tied the set at 25. The senior had the kill for the 27
th point to take the win. In the fourth set, while tied at 26, Waltz tallied two service aces to tie the match at two.
In the final set, the Knights held a 13-11 lead, but could not put the set away as the Ospreys took the next four points for the win.
Neumann wraps up the regular season 15-19 overall. The Knights will be the No. 2 seed in the conference postseason and will host a semifinal match on Thursday.
