ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action with a 92-67 win over Keystone College on Tuesday evening.
Nafisa Saunders led the Knights with 16 points.
AAliya Hayes netted 15 points against her former team.
Emily Lyons and
JoHanna Metzger added 12 while
Lauren Legler scored 10. Metzger pulled down 13 rebounds for another double-double.
Neumann started the game strong, scoring 30 of the first 32 points. After the first quarter, the Knights held a 35-8 advantage.
Over the next three quarters, the teams battled back and forth. The Giants outscored the Knights in the second and fourth quarters by two points. Neumann outscored Keystone by two points in the third quarter. The first quarter proved to be the difference.
Neumann (2-3, 1-0 CSAC) will continue CSAC play next Wednesday when it travels to Cairn. Tip-Off is slated for 7:00 PM.
