LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Cairn University 88-43 on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

JoHanna Metzger had a double-double to lead the Knights with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Lauren Legler added 15 points. Eleven Knights contributed points in the win. Twelve members of the team grabbed rebounds.

Alex Fernandez scored the first basket of the game and the Knights never looked back. Neumann held a 15-10 lead after the first quarter. During the second quarter, the Knights outscored the Highlanders 21-6 to take a 20 points advantage, 36-16, into halftime.

Neumann continued to slowly add to its lead throughout the second half, scoring 26 points in both the third and fourth quarters, to come away with the 88-43 win.

The Knights shot 46.3% from the field for the game. Neumann out rebounded Cairn 57-31.

Neumann (3-3, 2-0 CSAC) will host Widener next Wednesday in non-conference action beginning at 7:00 PM.
