RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team fell in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship match 3-0 at Cabrini College on Saturday evening.
Rachel Hoffman led the Knights with 12 kills.
Kat Wolf handed out 26 assists.
Anna Waltz anchored the defense with 15 digs.
Julia Malseed and
Nikki Collevechio each added 14. Wolf tallied 12 and
Karlie Greenhalgh notched 11.
In the first set, the teams battled back and forth, trading points. While tied at 16, the Cavaliers scored the next three points for a 19-16 lead. After a Neumann timeout, Cabrini finished the first set on a 6-2 run to take a 1-0 lead.
The second set was much like the first with the teams battling back and forth. Down 7-5, the Knights went on a run to take a 12-8 lead. The Cavaliers came back to tie the game at 14. The teams went back and forth down the stretch, but Cabrini was able to get two straight points when needed and came away with the 26-24 set two win.
Cabrini jumped out early in set three and took a 13-4 lead and won the title with a 25-16 third set win.
Neumann finishes the season 16-20 overall and 9-2 in conference action.
