Women's Lacrosse Dominates Griffins in CSAC Action

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Gwynedd Mercy University 16-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Hopkins led the Knights with five goals. Shae Risley and Emily Sanders netted three goals. Diana Caicedo added two goals. Alexa McIntyre and Nicole Curry each had a goal and an assist. Gabby Curry was outstanding in net making nine saves.

The Knights scored their 16 goals sandwiched between the two Griffin goals. Gwynedd Mercy scored the first goal of the game at the 25:20 mark to take the lead 1-0. McIntyre answered back with a goal of her own to tie the game up. The Knights went on to score four straight goals to end the half and take a 5-1 advantage after the first half.

Neumann started the second half right where they left off, scoring 11 straight goals to take a commanding 16-1 lead. The Griffins scored a free position goal with 46 seconds left to cap the scoring in the game. The Knights outshot the Griffins 37-14.

Neumann (4-4, 3-1 CSAC) travels to Misericordia University on Tuesday for non-conference action. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
