ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team took a pair of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games against Rosemont College on Sunday afternoon.
In game one, the Knights picked up a 7-0 win ina forfeited game.
In game two, Neumann exploded for eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to the 12-0 win. White scored the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly by Danielle Grayson.
The first three batter of the fifth inning reached base to start the inning. With the bases loaded, Sarah Murray hit a bases clearing double to down the left field line to score Grayson, Kara Grogan and Marisa Giordano.
Giordano had three hits in game two. Murray knocked in four runs. Haley Broomell went 5.0 innings for the shutout win. She allowed just two hits and struck out seven.
Neumann (9-3, 4-0 CSAC) is scheduled to head to Cedar Crest on Wednesday for a CSAC doubleheader. Action gets underway at 3:00 PM.
