Men's Lacrosse Falls at Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse team fell to Bryn Athyn College 19-10 in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

Jordan Klunk led the Knights with four goals while picking up six ground balls. Ryan O'Kane and Ricky Viscuse each netted two goals. O'Kane also picked up seven ground balls and tallied four assists. Tom Blakeslee started in net and made eight saves. Marco Agostini made six saves in relief.


Bryn Athyn scored the first goal of the game at the 9:52 mark to go up 1-0. Klunk answered right back scoring with a man-up on an assist from O'Kane. Bryn Athyn regained the lead with 5:51 to go in the first quarter. Once again Klunk scored on an assist from O'Kane to tie the game up at two. Bryn Athyn scored two straight goals to give them a two goal advantage heading into the second quarter.

The teams traded goals again to begin the second quarter. Bryn Athyn scored two straight to take a 7-3 lead with 9:24 to go before the half. Another goal being man-up was scored by Klunk to bring Neumann within three. The Lions would extend the lead once again scoring three straight goals. The Knights ended the half finding the back of the net twice in the final 50 seconds. Bryn Athyn led 10-6 at the half.

Sergio Plesati scored the first goal of the third to cut the lead down to three on an assist from O'Kane at the 10:31 mark. Bryn Athyn one again scored two straight to extend the lead to five with 8:40 to go in the quarter. Both teams went back and forth trading goals to end the third quarter. Neumann was down 13-9 after three quarters of play.

Bryn Athyn started the final 15 minutes with four straight goals. O'Kane found the back of the net to bring the Knights to within seven, but it wasn't enough.

Neumann (0-8) faces-off at Arcadia Saturday afternoon in more non-conference action. The game is scheduled to be 12:00 PM.
