ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team picked up a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win against Rosemont College 16-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
Three seniors were honored before the game for senior night: Amanda Fedak, Emily Sanders, and Colleen Waters. Fedak and Sanders each had three goals and an assist to lead the way for Neumann. Waters scored a goal and had four shots.
Shae Risley also tallied three goals. Jordan Hopkins and Erin Meehan each had a goa and an assist. Gabby Curry started in net and did not face a shot in 13+ minutes. Becca Wallace made seven saves in net.
Sanders goal in the first thirty five seconds started the scoring for both teams. Risley scored a goal four minutes later followed by a tally by Hopkins to put Neumann up 3-0 early on. The Knights defense held tight and offense kept scoring for the rest of the half to take an 11-0 lead at the half.
Meehan opened the second half with a goal seven minutes in. Rosemont then answered with their first goal coming in the 18:39 mark making the score 12-1. Neumann would then score three more, before letting up a second goal in the 6:31 mark.
Neumann University (9-4, 7-1 CSAC) travels to Centenary College Saturday for its last conference game of the regular season. Play gets underway at 1:00 PM.
