ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated Keystone College 19-1 in Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Thursday afternoon.
Jordan Hopkins led the Knights with four goals, the first being her 100th goal in a Knights uniform. Amanda Fedak and Diana Caicedo each netted three goals apiece. Taylor Klever, Shae Risley, and Alexa McIntyre all scored two goals. Gabby Curry started in net and made two saves. Becca Wallace had one save in relief.
McIntyre put the Knights on the board 30 seconds into the game and they never looked back. Neumann went on to score 14 straight goals to take a 15-0 lead with 4:49 to go in the first half. Keystone scored its only goal of the game with 3:55 left in the first half. Neumann led 15-1 at halftime.
Nicole Curry found the back of the net first for the Knights in the second half to extend the lead. Neumann outshot Keystone 35-5 and doubled up on ground balls 30-15.
Neumann (5-4, 4-1 CSAC) hits the road for two CSAC games, beginning next Thursday at Notre Dame of Maryland University. The game is slated to begin 4:00 PM.
