ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action by picking up its first win of the season, 3-0, over Summit University on Saturday afternoon.
Lexi Casper scored twice for the Knights.
Jamie King also found the back of the net.
Kristen Montgomery made five saves in net for her first win.
Casper scored the first goal of the game in the ninth minute as she put the ball towards the net from outside the box. The ball made its way into the goal for a 1-0 Neumann lead.
King made it 2-0 in the 38
th minute when she deflected a shot from
Alexa DeRose into the back of the net. Neumann held the 2-0 lead at the break.
Early in the second half, Casper scored her second goal to give the Knights some breathing room. Neumann outshot Summit 29-9 overall and 17-5 on goal.
Neumann (1-4, 1-0 CSAC) will host Immaculata on Wednesday as it continues conference action. The game is slated to get underway at 4:00 PM.
