Volleyball Drops a Pair of Matches at Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FROSTBURG, Md. – The Neumann University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at a tri-match on Saturday afternoon. The Knights fell to both Frostburg and Lebanon Valley 3-1.

In the first match against Frostburg, the Knights took the first set 25-23. The Bobcats came back to take the second set at the same score, 25-23. Frostburg won set three 25-19. Neumann battled to send the match to five sets, but came up short, 27-25, in set four.

Anna Waltz led the Knights with 13 kills. Rachael Hoffman and Julia Malseed each notched 10 kills. Malseed and Kat Wolf each tallied 19 digs. Wolf handed out 31 assists. Wolf and Nikki Collevechio each had four service aces.

Against Lebanon Valley, the Flying Dutchmen won the first set 25-18. Neumann came back to take set two 25-21. LVC took sets three and four 25-16 and 25-21, respectively.

Malseed and Waltz each had 13 kills against Lebanon Valley. Wolf dished out 35 assists. Waltz tallied 19 digs while Malseed had 18, Wolf added 14 and Ali Frey 11.

Neumann (7-10) gets back into conference action on Wednesday when it heads to Immaculata. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
