IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team held off Immaculata University 68-67 on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
JoHanna Metzger was the lone Knights in double-digits, scoring 20 points.

The Knights started the game strong, scoring the first 10 points. Neumann took an 18-7 lead after the first quarter. The Knights kept the pressure on during the second quarter and held a 36-20 lead at halftime.
The third quarter was much like the first two, with the Knights holding a double-digit lead throughout. Neumann led 59-44 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Immaculata started its comeback attempt in the fourth quarter. The Mighty Macs opened the quarter on an 11-2 run to cut the lead to six, 61-55. Metzger then scored three straight points to put the Knights back up by nine with 6:11 on the clock. Metzger hit Neumann's last bucket with 2:31 left on the clock for a 68-59 advantage. Immaculata was not going to go quietly and started to chip further into Neumann's lead.
With 1:30 on the clock, the Mighty Macs hit a three-pointer for a 68-65 score. Neither team would sink another basket until Immaculata went 1-of-2 from the free throw line with 11 seconds remaining. With three seconds remaining, the Mighty Macs were at the line again with the chance to tie the game. Immaculata went 1-for-2 for the one point game but time ran out and Neumann held on for the win.
Neumann (8-9, 6-2 CSAC) will head to Summit on Saturday afternoon for CSAC play beginning at 1:00 PM.
