CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated Summit University 93-35 on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
JoHanna Metzger notched a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Lauren Legler scored 16 points while going 4-for-4 from the three point line.
Sarah Roberts and
Nafisa Saunders each netted 13 points. All 11 Knights that hit the court scored at least two points in the win.
With Neumann leading 13-10 in the first quarter, the Knights went on an 8-0 run for a 21-10 lead and held a 25-16 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
During the second quarter, the Defenders were not able to find net until four second left on the clock. The Knights scored 27 points in the meantime for a 52-17 lead at halftime.
The Knights used the lead built in the second quarter to cruise through the second half and come away with the 93-35 win.
Neumann (9-9, 7-2 CSAC) will host Marywood on Monday evening in a make-up game from the blizzard. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
