Volleyball Drops Two at Fall Classic

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team dropped two matches at day two of the Knights Fall Classic on Saturday. The Knights fell 3-0 to St. Mary's (Minn.) and Scranton.
 
Against St. Mary's, all three sets ended rather close. In sets one and two, the Cardinals took the first advantage, but the Knights battled back until the Cardinals took the wins. Neumann took a lead in the third set, but St. Mary's came back and the teams went back and forth down the stretch before the Cardinals sealed the win.
 
Five Knights had three or more kills in the match. Rachel Cray handed out 19 assists and three service aces. Nikki Collevechio tallied 11 digs and Carlee Herrin added 10.
 
In the final match of the weekend against Scranton, the teams battled in the first set, but the Royals came away with the 28-26 win. Scranton took sets two and three, 25-13 and 25-17.
 
Rachael Hoffman tallied 10 kills in the match. Cray dished out 23 assists. Collevechio notched 19 digs. Herrin and Cray each added 15 digs.

Hoffman was named to the All-Classic team.
 
Neumann (10-13) will head to Scranton on Wednesday for a pair of conference matches. The Knights will face Marywood at 5:00 PM and Clarks Summit at 7:00 PM.
