ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team heads to Keystone in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up on Thursday evening.
The Knights defeated Immaculata 3-0 in a first round game on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 27-25, 25-23, 25-22.
Rachael Hoffman led the charge with 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Carlee Herrin handed out 29 assists.
Nikki Collevechio anchored the defense with 26 digs.
Hayley Glah added 11 digs.
The Knights are currently 18-16 and finished 9-2 in conference action for the No. 3 seed. One of Neumann's two CSAC losses came at the hands of Keystone, 3-0.
Melanie Malseed had nine kills to lead the Knights.
Rachel Cray handed out 22 assists. Glah tallied 10 digs back on October 26. The Knights will look to avenge the loss and head back to the CSAC Championship game for the sixth straight season.
For the season, three Knights have tallied over 200 kills. Leading the way is Hoffman with 304, followed by Glah with 273 and Malseed with 259. Cray, the reigning CSAC Rookie of the Year, has handed out 919 assists and a team high 59 service aces. Collevechio leads the team with 461 digs while adding 56 service aces. Cray has added 312 digs and Glah has tallied 309. Hoffmann has 104 blocks this season, including 41 solo.
In the other first round match, Notre Dame defeated Marywood 3-2. Notre Dame will head to Cabrini in the other semifinal match-up on Thursday. The winners will meet on Saturday for the CSAC Championship at the highest remaining seed.
