Men's Basketball Uses Big Second Half to Continue Winning Ways

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team used a second half run to defeat Catholic University and remain undefeated, 83-63, on Saturday evening.
 
Kenny Wilson and DeShawn Lowman led the Knights with 14 points each. Wilson also added six assists and four blocks. Billy Cassidy sank four three-pointers, all in the second half, for 12 points. Tyaire Hudson and Darian Barnes each netted 11 points. The team connected on 10 baskets from downtown, seven coming in the big second half.
 
The first half was a battle with 11 lead changes and seven tied scores. Catholic held the biggest lead of the half, 31-25, with 3:45 left in the half. The Cardinals took a 36-33 lead into the break.
 
Five minutes into the second half, Catholic had a 46-39 advantage. Over the next four minutes, Neumann went on a 14-5 run and took a 53-51 lead on a three-pointer by Tony Parker. The Knights continued their run as Lowman and James Butler followed by going 2-for-2 from the line. Neumann did not slow down and a three-pointer by Cassidy put the Knights up by 10, 66-56, with 5:47 left in regulation. Another Cassidy three-pointer gave Neumann its 20-point advantage, 80-60, with two minutes remaining.
 
Neumann (8-0) will now be off until after Christmas when it will host Scranton on December 30. Action is slated to get underway at 3:00 PM.
