ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's basketball team wrapped up its regular season with an 86-52 win over Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up.
Prior to tip off, the Knights honored its two seniors, playing in their last regular season game:
Kevin Green and
Denzel Yard. Green led the Knights with 21 points and went 6-9 at the three-point line. Yard added six points and five rebounds.
Tyaire Hudson netted 12 points.
Jordan Collins scored 10 points, including two three-pointers.
Darian Barnes had 10 points, added five rebounds and blocked three blocks. All twelve Knights contributed a point or a rebound in the win.
On the defensive side, the Knights held all Mighty Macs to single-digits in the point column.
Three minutes in, the game was tied for the third time, 9-9. While leading 13-11, the Knights went on a 17-8 run to take a 30-19 lead. The Knights netted the last basket of the half to take a 16 point advantage, 43-27, into the break.
In the second half, the Knights outscored the Mighty Macs 43-25. At the 13:54 mark, Neumann went on 14-0 run to jump out to a 69-36 advantage. Neumann maintained their lead and cruised to the 85-52 win.
Neumann finishes its regular season 18-7 overall and 14-4 in the conference. The Knights will be No. 2 in the postseason and will host a semifinal game on Wednesday evening. The 14 CSAC wins sets a program record for wins in conference play. Prior to this season, the Knights had won 12 conference games in a handful of seasons.
